Historic charm meets relaxed country-house hospitality at York Pavilion Hotel, set in Fulford on the outskirts of York. Our story began as a 17th-century farmhouse before the property was transformed into an elegant Georgian home in 1785. Since becoming a hotel in 1988, we have combined this heritage with comfortable accommodation, landscaped grounds and modern event facilities. Our event spaces provide flexible options for conferences, meetings, training, team-building days, product launches, weddings, private functions and dining. The Sandys Richardson Suite accommodates up to 100 delegates, while the Courtyard Suite is suited to groups of up to 30. For more intimate gatherings, our two private dining rooms can each accommodate up to 20 guests. With up to 57 individually styled en-suite bedrooms and six corporate apartments opposite the hotel, we are well equipped for residential conferences, team stays and multi-day events. Guests can also enjoy free high-speed Wi-Fi, parking for around 60 vehicles, EV charging, a bar and outdoor courtyard areas. Our period architecture and attractive grounds create a memorable backdrop for weddings and photography, while our Fulford location provides convenient access to York city centre, local attractions and transport links, with a bus stop directly outside.
The hotel’s principal function venue accommodates 50 to 120 guests with ease. This opulent, flexible room features an exclusive private bar open until midnight and offers direct access to the hotel’s lush gardens, making it popular for larger wedding banquets, corporate conferences, and lively evening receptions.
The Sandys Suite is a smaller meeting and function space within the hotel's wider Sandys Richardson arrangement. The published Best Western capacity schedule gives it a maximum of 50 in theatre configuration and 60 for banquets. It is appropriate for smaller conferences, training sessions, private dining and corporate functions requiring a more compact environment.
The Richardson Suite provides another medium-sized meeting and function environment. Its published capacity is identical to the Sandys Suite, making the two useful alternatives when an organiser requires a similar meeting format. The room can support theatre, classroom, U-shaped and boardroom arrangements as well as banquet-style events.
Ideal for intimate celebrations and micro-weddings, this cozy suite beautifully hosts up to 50 attendees. The space opens into a secure, ivy-entwined brick courtyard, allowing guests to mingle comfortably outdoors or providing a magical, enclosed playing environment if younger children are included on the guest list.
The Andrews Drawing Room is a smaller, characterful meeting and private-function room. Its capacity makes it particularly suitable for board meetings, training, private dining and small corporate gatherings rather than large conferences. Its drawing-room character complements the hotel's country-house setting.
The John Barry Room is one of the hotel's named event and meeting rooms and is linked to the property's notable theatrical history. The hotel explains that composer John Barry was raised at the property, and the building received a York Civic Trust blue plaque commemorating him in 2017. The room provides a mid-sized setting for meetings and private functions.
The Courtyard Suite is a smaller flexible event space that the hotel currently recommends for meetings of up to 30 delegates. Its name reflects the hotel's courtyard environment, making it suitable for smaller conferences, meetings, training sessions and private functions. The historic Best Western capacity schedule lists a larger configuration capacity, so the current hotel figure should take precedence for contemporary corporate planning.
