Tynemouth Priory Theatre

Tynemouth Priory Theatre is an intimate performing arts setting in the heart of Tynemouth, where we bring audiences and local theatre-makers together through live productions and community activity. Our theatre has a long history of supporting drama and is operated as a volunteer-led charitable organisation. We present a varied programme that includes drama, comedy, mystery productions and our popular Christmas pantomime, while also providing opportunities for locally produced work and visiting productions. Our intimate environment allows audiences to experience performances at close range, creating a friendly and engaging atmosphere throughout the season. We also make our theatre available for hire, giving groups and production teams an opportunity to use our facilities for suitable performances and activities. Accessibility remains important to us, and we provide facilities including a hearing loop to support our patrons. Located on Percy Street, we are close to the centre of Tynemouth, making it convenient for visitors to combine their theatre experience with the surrounding village's restaurants, shops and attractions.
