Crook Hall & Gardens

We are Crook Hall & Gardens, a historic and characterful venue in the heart of Durham City, set around our remarkable Grade I-listed 13th-century Medieval Hall and five acres of beautiful English gardens. We offer a unique setting where historic architecture, gardens and Durham Cathedral views come together to create memorable occasions. For weddings and celebrations, we offer exclusive use of the Hall and Gardens, giving couples and their guests the freedom to enjoy our different indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day. We are licensed to conduct civil marriages and civil partnerships in the Medieval Hall, Jacobean sitting room, Georgian dining room and selected outdoor garden areas. Our gardens include a walled garden, orchard, maze, moat pool and numerous characterful areas for photographs, drinks and outdoor activities. We also welcome visitors throughout the year with our Garden Gate Café, events, workshops, guided walks and cultural activities, making Crook Hall a distinctive destination for both private celebrations and public events.
