At Northern College, we offer a distinctive event setting within the historic Wentworth Castle estate in Stainborough, Barnsley. Our Grade I-listed college provides a peaceful environment surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland, making us particularly suitable for conferences, meetings, training programmes, workshops and residential events. We provide a variety of flexible event spaces across Wentworth Castle and our Home Farm Conference Centre, supported by onsite catering, free parking, internet facilities and accessible spaces. Our residential facilities include 23 en-suite bedrooms, allowing delegates to stay conveniently on site during multi-day conferences, training programmes and educational activities. We also provide outdoor areas that can support team-building and group activities. Our experienced staff can work with organisations to create programmes around their requirements, whether they need a small meeting room, a larger conference space or residential facilities for a group. We combine practical conference facilities with the character, history and tranquil surroundings of the Wentworth Castle estate.
Our Conference Room is one of our principal meeting spaces, providing a flexible environment for conferences, seminars, presentations and training. We can arrange the room in theatre, classroom, boardroom or other suitable layouts according to the requirements of each event.
Our Old Library combines the character of our historic surroundings with a practical event environment. We use this flexible space for conferences, seminars, meetings and presentations, with several seating configurations available to suit different group sizes and event requirements.
Our Queen Anne 2 room provides a smaller, comfortable environment for focused meetings, training sessions and group discussions. We can accommodate up to 30 people in theatre-style arrangements, while smaller classroom and boardroom layouts provide a more collaborative setting.
Our Queen Anne 3 room offers a flexible space for smaller conferences, meetings, workshops and training activities. We can accommodate up to 35 people theatre-style and adapt the room for classroom or boardroom arrangements when a more interactive environment is required.
Our St James' Hall provides one of our larger flexible spaces for group meetings, conferences and events. We can accommodate up to 80 people in theatre-style arrangements, while alternative layouts allow us to adapt the hall to the requirements of different group activities.
Our ICT Training Rooms are designed for practical computer-based learning, training and workshops. We provide several dedicated rooms where smaller groups can work with technology in a focused environment, making these spaces particularly suitable for digital training and skills-development sessions.
