Seaburn Recreation Park

Seaburn Recreation Park is a seafront outdoor event location in Sunderland, positioned within the wider Seaburn and Roker coastal area. It is managed by Sunderland City Council and forms part of the council's portfolio of spaces available for organised events. Rather than providing conventional indoor meeting rooms, conference suites or function rooms, the park offers an open-air environment that can be configured according to the requirements of individual events. The location is particularly appropriate for outdoor public events, community celebrations, sporting activities, festivals, fairs, markets and temporary entertainment installations. A current example is the Sunderland Armed Forces Weekend, which used Seaburn Recreation Park together with Roker Cliff Park in June 2026. Sunderland City Council's event-booking process requires organisers to submit an application and, depending on the event, an Event Management Plan. The council's Events Team then assesses the proposed event, including its venue requirements and safety arrangements.
