Kyaninga Lodge

Kyaninga Lodge is a luxury eco-lodge on the rim of Lake Kyaninga in the Fort Portal area of western Uganda, overlooking the crater lake and the Rwenzori Mountains. The property was constructed over six years using locally sourced sustainable timber, volcanic rock and traditional building materials, and its nine luxury cottages are positioned on raised platforms connected to the main lodge by elevated wooden walkways. The architecture, setting and limited number of guest cottages give the property a distinctly private character suited to destination weddings, executive retreats, private celebrations and residential corporate gatherings. The main lodge contains the restaurant, bar, lounge and raised viewing galleries, while the grounds include landscaped lawns, terraces, a swimming pool and access to Lake Kyaninga. Dining combines African and international cuisine using produce from the lodge's kitchen garden and local markets. The property also has a wellness centre, spa treatments, tennis and other outdoor recreational facilities, allowing event programmes to combine meetings or celebrations with accommodation, dining and leisure activities. Kyaninga has a particularly strong destination-event offering. Its wedding package allows exclusive use of the lodge, grounds, swimming pool and extensive gardens, together with the purpose-built 375-square-metre ballroom. The ballroom can be configured for different event requirements and includes its own bar area, restrooms, changing room, storeroom and kitchen/food-preparation area. External caterers and decorators can also be engaged, giving organisers flexibility over event suppliers.
