St John's Smith Square gives our guests a distinctive setting in the heart of Westminster, combining historic English Baroque architecture with the facilities of a professional concert venue. Originally designed by Thomas Archer, our Grade I listed building has been restored as a performance and events space while retaining its impressive architectural character. The Main Hall features a dramatic canopy ceiling, historic detailing, a marble floor, grand columns and a built-in stage. Our excellent acoustics make the space particularly suited to music and spoken presentations, while its flexible layout also allows us to host receptions, dinners, conferences, corporate events, fashion shows and private celebrations. The building also includes a crypt space that can provide an additional setting for dining, refreshments or smaller gatherings. Located close to the Houses of Parliament, Westminster and Victoria, we offer a central London location with a quieter atmosphere within Smith Square. Our historic character, performance facilities and adaptable event space allow us to accommodate a wide range of occasions.
Our Main Hall is the principal event and performance space, combining Baroque architecture, a striking canopy ceiling, marble flooring, historic detailing and concert-grade acoustics. A built-in stage supports performances and presentations.
Our vaulted crypt provides a more intimate setting beneath the Main Hall. It can complement larger events as a drinks, dining or breakout area, while also providing a distinctive setting for smaller gatherings.
