The Fed is a distinctive event and entertainment venue in Dunston, Gateshead, occupying the former Federation Brewery office building. The venue has historical connections to the Northern Clubs Federation Brewery, which eventually operated from Dunston before closing in 2010. The building was subsequently transformed into an events and entertainment venue and relaunched under the name The Fed, having previously operated as The Lancastrian Suite.
The venue is designed for a broad range of events, including conferences, exhibitions, weddings, concerts, comedy shows, sporting events, charity dinners, award ceremonies, corporate functions and private celebrations. Its principal Main Suite can accommodate up to 1,000 standing guests, with a purpose-built stage, mezzanine viewing areas, three large video walls and integrated sound and lighting.
A second named space, The Bunker, provides a more intimate setting and accommodates up to 150 guests for dining or 200 standing.
The Fed provides in-house AV and technical support, high-speed broadband, catering, flexible room layouts and extensive free parking. The venue is also accessible, with a ramp into the foyer, a chair lift to reception and lift access to other floors.
