Located in the heart of South Kensington, our historic venue combines the character of our Lowther Lodge headquarters with modern facilities for conferences, meetings, lectures, receptions, weddings and exhibitions. We offer a diverse collection of event spaces, including our impressive Ondaatje Lecture Theatre, historic Main Hall, elegant Map Room, flexible Education Centre, private meeting rooms and contemporary Pavilion on Exhibition Road. Our Ondaatje Theatre can accommodate up to 700 guests, while our smaller rooms provide more intimate settings for meetings, workshops and presentations. We support events with state-of-the-art audiovisual and hybrid technology, professional catering through our exclusive partner Lodge Catering and an experienced venue-hire team. Our building also provides access to a remarkable geographical collection containing more than two million items. For selected events, guests can enjoy private views of our maps, photographs, books, documents, paintings and artefacts, adding a distinctive cultural experience to their time with us.
Our Ondaatje Lecture Theatre is our largest event space, with 700 seats across the ground floor and balcony. We provide professional AV, flexible stage arrangements and hybrid-event technology for conferences, lectures and screenings.
Our Education Centre is a bright, spacious and flexible event room for conferences, workshops, meetings and dinners. We provide modern AV facilities and can open the adjoining Main Hall for networking and refreshments.
Our Map Room provides a distinctive historic setting for receptions, exhibitions and networking. We offer beautiful bay windows and access to our geographical collections, creating an especially memorable environment for guests and private-view experiences.
Our Council Room is a historic first-floor meeting room centred around a grand boardroom table. We provide an intimate and distinguished setting for meetings and professional gatherings, accommodating up to 18 people in boardroom style.
Our Lowther Room is an original room within Lowther Lodge, decorated with floor-to-ceiling bookcases. We provide an atmospheric setting for meetings, presentations and workshops, accommodating up to 35 lecture-style or 18 boardroom guests.
Our Drayson Room is a modern and spacious ground-floor meeting room for smaller meetings, presentations and workshops. We accommodate up to 35 in lecture-theatre style or 18 around a boardroom table.
Our Main Hall is an original reception room of Lowther Lodge, retaining historic features including its wooden floors, fireplace and minstrel’s gallery. We host receptions, dinners, weddings and networking events here.
Our Sunley Room is a light and contemporary meeting space designed for smaller professional gatherings. We can accommodate up to 30 in lecture-theatre style or 18 around a boardroom table, with standard AV included.
Our Pavilion is a contemporary, light-filled exhibition space on Exhibition Road, with high ceilings, full glass walls and natural daylight. We provide a versatile setting for exhibitions, displays and private-view receptions.
