The Priest's House is a historic restaurant and private-event venue situated at Bolton Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales. The building is a medieval priest's house dating from the fifteenth century and provides an atmospheric setting surrounded by the countryside of the Bolton Abbey estate. Its location near the River Wharfe and the ruins of Bolton Abbey gives the venue a particularly distinctive character compared with conventional restaurants and event spaces. The venue operates primarily as a restaurant but also provides facilities for private dining, celebrations, weddings and selected corporate functions. Its historic architecture, exposed features and intimate dining rooms make it particularly appropriate for occasions where atmosphere and food are more important than large-scale conference capacity. The Priest's House can accommodate smaller private functions and dining events, with larger arrangements reaching approximately 60 guests depending on configuration. Smaller groups can use individual dining areas for intimate meals, business entertaining and family celebrations. Its position within the wider Bolton Abbey estate also provides access to an extensive landscape of woodland, riverside scenery, walking routes and historic architecture, creating opportunities for photographs and outdoor elements to complement an indoor event.
