Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA)

Set in the heart of Middlesbrough, we provide a distinctive contemporary setting where art, culture, business and community come together. As an international art gallery, museum and Plus Tate Gallery, we offer visitors the opportunity to experience exhibitions and collections alongside their events. Our building provides versatile spaces for networking events, exhibitions, receptions, meetings, launches, outdoor activations and gala dinners. We also accommodate conferences, board meetings and creative workshops, with gallery tours available for event guests subject to availability. Our event facilities include a bright gallery foyer, dedicated meeting room, roof terrace and outdoor pavilion, giving organisers a choice of indoor and outdoor environments. The roof terrace provides views across the surrounding area, while the pavilion offers additional space for outdoor events, networking and catering. Our location in Centre Square places us within a five-minute walk of Middlesbrough railway station. We are part of Teesside University and provide a creative, culturally distinctive alternative to conventional event venues.
