Cusworth Hall, Museum & Park

@b6kkpp

Cusworth Hall offers an elegant country-house setting surrounded by historic parkland, gardens and tranquil lakes just outside Doncaster. Built between 1740 and 1744 for local landowner William Wrightson, our Grade I listed Georgian house was designed by George Platt and later enhanced by architect James Paine. Today, the Hall forms part of Heritage Doncaster and continues to provide a memorable setting for cultural and private occasions. Our event offering is deliberately intimate, with private-hire requests considered individually and celebrations of up to 60 guests currently supported. Civil ceremonies can take place within the Hall and Walled Gardens, creating a choice between elegant historic interiors and picturesque outdoor surroundings. The character of Cusworth Hall makes it particularly suited to intimate weddings, civil ceremonies, receptions, heritage events, photography, cultural gatherings and selected private functions. The surrounding estate provides opportunities to incorporate gardens, lakes and landscaped parkland into an event or photographic experience. Guests can also enjoy refreshments at the on-site Butlers Tea Room and Bistro, while the historic former brewhouse has been transformed into The Old Brewhouse.

Mr Wrightson's Library is a historic interior associated with the later development of Cusworth Hall. It has traditionally been used as one of the Hall's two ceremony rooms alongside the Grand Salon. Its smaller, more intimate character makes it particularly suitable for civil ceremonies and private gatherings where atmosphere and architectural heritage are more important than large capacity.
