GRACEPOINT is a distinctive, Grade II listed Art Deco venue located on Essex Road in Islington, North London. We occupy a historic building designed by architect George Coles, originally opened as the Carlton Cinema before later becoming a Mecca bingo hall. Our Egyptian-inspired decorative features and impressive auditorium create a memorable setting for large-scale events. The venue can accommodate over 1,100 guests in theatre or conference-style seating, making it suitable for conferences, presentations, concerts, award ceremonies, screenings and product launches. Our facilities include a substantial performance stage, a high-resolution front-projection screen, sound equipment and standard stage lighting. We also provide two front-of-house areas, two backstage offices and a large reception area to support event operations. Located at 161–169 Essex Road, we offer organisers a characterful setting with the scale and technical facilities required for performance-led productions, corporate gatherings and public events. Our venue is available for hire, subject to booking arrangements and event requirements.
