The Sun Pavilion

The Sun Pavilion sits at the northern end of Harrogate’s beautiful Valley Gardens, combining 1930s Art Deco elegance with a peaceful garden setting. Built in 1933 and designed by borough surveyor Leonard Clarke, our pavilion was sensitively restored before reopening in 1998 and is now recognised, alongside its adjoining colonnade, as a Grade II listed landmark. At the heart of the building is our distinctive glass and stained-glass dome, complemented by large windows that fill the room with natural light. Beyond the main room, our covered terrace overlooks Valley Gardens and offers an attractive alternative setting for ceremonies, receptions and informal gatherings. We welcome a wide variety of occasions, from weddings and corporate events to charity functions, retirement dinners, school proms and community celebrations. Our flexible layout accommodates up to 150 guests for formal events and up to 200 for more informal occasions. In-house catering, adaptable menus, drinks packages, complimentary Wi-Fi, PA equipment and microphones are available, while half-day and full-day exclusive hire provide flexibility for different event requirements.
