The General Tarleton

The General Tarleton is an 18th-century coaching inn in the village of Ferrensby, near Knaresborough and Harrogate in North Yorkshire. The property has been renovated as a destination Yorkshire pub with rooms, combining a traditional coaching-inn character with contemporary interiors, seasonal food and overnight accommodation. It is operated by Jeopardy Hospitality and is associated with Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Tommy Banks. Rather than functioning as a large conference centre, the General Tarleton is primarily a small private dining and events venue. Its principal dedicated event facility is The Hayloft, a private upstairs space offering exclusive use and privacy for private dining, celebrations and corporate gatherings. The current venue states that The Hayloft accommodates up to 28 guests. Our venue is particularly suited to intimate events where food and hospitality are central to the experience. Current event offerings include private dining, corporate away days, birthday celebrations, family gatherings and intimate wedding receptions. The venue also discusses larger bespoke parties, christenings and wakes on an individual basis. Accommodation consists of eight bedrooms, each designed with super-king beds, en-suite bathrooms, walk-in showers and other modern amenities. The property also has a restaurant, bar and rear terrace/beer garden.
