Crypt on the Green is a historic and flexible event venue in the heart of Clerkenwell, offering a distinctive combination of vaulted brick ceilings, parquet flooring, natural light and original architectural features. We provide several spaces within and around Saint James Clerkenwell, giving organisers options for conferences, exhibitions, product launches, private parties, wedding receptions, concerts, filming and corporate events. Our dry-hire approach gives clients considerable freedom to arrange their own catering, furniture, entertainment and event installations. The Crypt is our principal underground event space, while The Church provides a larger historic setting with modern Tom Dixon lighting and furniture. The Vestry offers a smaller meeting and presentation environment, and The Long Walk provides an outdoor option for drinks receptions, garden parties and photo shoots. We are conveniently located approximately five minutes' walk from Farringdon station, making the venue accessible from several major London transport connections.
The Crypt is our principal historic event space, featuring vaulted ceilings, parquet flooring, exposed brickwork and eight large windows that bring natural light into the room. We accommodate up to 300 standing guests and include The Well with the hire.
The Church is our Grade II* listed historic church space, combining its original architecture with contemporary Tom Dixon lighting and furniture. We accommodate up to 250 people downstairs or up to 350 when the balcony is used, making us suitable for concerts, exhibitions, talks and larger events.
The Vestry is our smaller, carpeted meeting space, combining the historic character of the 1792 building with contemporary Tom Dixon lighting. We accommodate up to 35 standing guests and provide a media screen with ClickShare for presentations and meetings.
The Long Walk is our outdoor event space situated beside The Church. We accommodate approximately 150 people and provide an open-air setting for drinks receptions, summer garden parties and photo shoots.
The Well is our supporting space directly beside The Crypt, sharing its vaulted ceiling and parquet flooring. We use it as a green room, breakout area or discreet storage space, and it is automatically included when The Crypt is hired.
