At the Museum of the Home, we offer a distinctive event setting that combines historic Georgian architecture, contemporary facilities and beautiful gardens in Hoxton, East London. Located at 136 Kingsland Road, our venue occupies historic almshouses surrounded by outdoor spaces that provide a peaceful setting within the city. We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for corporate meetings, team away days, private dinners, weddings, workshops, receptions and celebrations. Our facilities include modern studios with audiovisual equipment, an elegant Georgian Suite, the Garden Atrium, historic rooms and extensive gardens suitable for outdoor gatherings. Different spaces accommodate events ranging from intimate dinners and small meetings to large receptions and outdoor occasions with hundreds of guests. We can also accommodate civil ceremonies and wedding receptions, with the option of using multiple areas throughout an event. As a registered charity and free museum, we reinvest venue-hire profits into supporting our work and keeping the museum accessible to the public.
We provide a bright, purpose-built room with parquet flooring, natural light, built-in audiovisual facilities and partitioning doors. Our private terrace connects directly to the Gardens Through Time, making the Studio suitable for workshops, screenings, receptions, parties and wedding celebrations.
We offer a light, flexible contemporary space with built-in audiovisual facilities, speakers and portable microphones. Guests can access the gardens, terrace and, subject to arrangements, the private Herb Garden. The Pavilion is suited to workshops, presentations, meetings and smaller receptions.
We provide a distinctive glass-and-brick space with views across the Gardens Through Time. Our Garden Atrium works well for private dinners, wedding receptions, drinks parties and larger celebrations, with opportunities to combine the booking with selected garden or gallery access.
We offer an elegant, panelled heritage room with a connecting kitchen. Doors open directly onto the lawns, while the adjoining kitchen and separate areas for refreshments provide flexibility for private dining, business meetings, workshops and intimate celebrations.
We provide an intimate historic space with a vaulted ceiling, atmospheric lighting and its own door leading to the Gardens Through Time. This setting is particularly suitable for private dinners, smaller receptions and drinks gatherings.
We offer a historic chapel within the original almshouse buildings. The adjoining Reading Lounge can provide additional space for receptions or private dining, creating a distinctive setting for ceremonies and smaller gatherings.
We offer extensive outdoor lawns framed by historic architecture and mature trees. The gardens are suited to large receptions, summer parties, outdoor team-building, markets, brand activations and events using temporary structures, subject to the museum’s arrangements.
We provide a series of garden spaces exploring changing garden styles and design. The gardens make a refreshing setting for outdoor drinks receptions, networking events and summer gatherings, with the availability of individual areas subject to the event schedule.
