Doncaster Corn Exchange

@ltg6j6

Doncaster Corn Exchange is a Grade II listed Victorian landmark in the heart of Doncaster Market Place, originally built in 1870 as a concert hall and marketplace. Following a £5 million restoration completed in 2024, the building reopened to the public during Easter 2025 as a flexible cultural, community, retail and events destination. Its restored Victorian architecture, exposed brickwork, ornate iron columns, high ceilings and glazed roof provide a distinctive backdrop for concerts, markets, exhibitions, workshops, celebrations, private parties and weddings. The building contains a large central event area, first-floor galleries and ten retail units, while lift access and improved facilities enhance accessibility. The East and West Galleries each provide smaller, semi-private event options, while the main hall supports substantially larger gatherings. The venue also benefits from an on-site café and bar, accessible toilets, improved heating and ventilation, feature lighting, and central-city transport connections. Event hire is particularly suited to evening and Sunday use because the building remains part of the operational Doncaster Market. Nearby Market Quarter attractions, public transport and paid parking add convenience for visitors. The venue has already hosted concerts, artisan markets, creative events, seasonal celebrations and community activities since reopening, reinforcing its role as a versatile modern events destination.
