Barn in the Fells is our beautiful old slate barn at Rydal Farm, just a short walk from Ambleside in the Lake District. We have lovingly repurposed a collection of rustic farm spaces into a distinctive wedding venue surrounded by the spectacular Lakeland fells. Our large barn provides space for up to 180 guests, while our different areas allow celebrations to flow naturally between the main barn, bars, Undercroft and Sheep Yard. We specialise in DIY-style weddings, giving couples the freedom to choose the catering, furniture, lighting, decorations and other elements that suit their plans, style and budget. We provide important facilities including the barn, bars, outdoor lighting, seating, catering space and wedding-day coordination. Our location gives guests easy access to the surrounding fells, Rydal Water and Ambleside. We are a family-run venue, and we treat every event as a warm, personal celebration filled with atmosphere, fun and memorable moments.
