O2 Academy Brixton

Located on Stockwell Road, we provide an iconic Grade II listed setting for live entertainment and private events in Brixton. Our building originally opened as the Astoria in 1929 before becoming Brixton Academy in 1983. Today, our main auditorium combines a distinctive Art Deco interior with sloping floors, a vast curved ceiling and an iconic stage design inspired by Venice’s Rialto Bridge. We host live music, club nights, comedy shows and other entertainment, while also accepting enquiries for corporate, location and private events. Our facilities include bars, cloakroom facilities, toilets, professional stage and event infrastructure, and accessibility provisions for visitors with different requirements. We have welcomed major international artists and continue to operate as one of London's established live entertainment venues. Our team can also support location, filming and photography enquiries. The venue is well connected by public transport, with Brixton Underground station approximately 800 metres away.
