We are The George Hotel, a historic riverside coaching inn situated in the picturesque village of Piercebridge on the banks of the River Tees. We combine traditional character, beautiful surroundings and modern event facilities to provide a welcoming setting for weddings, conferences, meetings, private functions and celebrations. Our beautiful Ballroom overlooks the river and features a sweeping staircase, while our Pavilion provides a bright and airy environment for conferences, civil ceremonies and more intimate celebrations. We also offer a dedicated function room with a private bar, data projector, retractable screen and modern sound system. Our Riverside Restaurant, Snug Bar, gardens, riverside terrace and courtyard provide additional spaces for dining, relaxation and socialising. We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies and can offer exclusive use for weddings. Our on-site accommodation allows guests to stay with us, while our picturesque riverside setting provides an attractive backdrop for photographs and special occasions. We aim to combine friendly service, historic charm and flexible facilities for every event.

Our Oxford Room provides a convenient breakout and relaxation area beside our main function facilities. We use it to complement meetings and events, giving delegates and guests somewhere comfortable to take a break or socialise.
