The Stadium of Light is one of the North East's largest and most recognisable event venues, situated on the banks of the River Wear in Sunderland and home to Sunderland AFC. The Montgomery Suite is the principal large-scale conference and banqueting room, with theatre capacity of up to 650. It was refurbished in 2023 and is designed for exhibitions, trade shows, dinners and award ceremonies. The venue also has an in-house AV team, catering, Wi-Fi, extensive parking and stadium-tour options. Its location is convenient for public transport, with both Stadium of Light and St Peter's Metro stations nearby.
Riverview Brasserie is an elegant, flexible event space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the River Wear. It offers natural daylight, a private terrace and several seating configurations. The space is designed for conferences, gala dinners, award ceremonies, corporate events and private celebrations, combining substantial capacity with attractive river views.
Quinn's Sports Bar is an informal and characterful event space featuring Sunderland AFC memorabilia and its own exclusive bar. It is particularly suitable for networking, post-conference drinks, private parties and informal corporate events. Its large standing capacity makes it useful for receptions where guests need a relaxed, social environment.
The Montgomery Suite is the Stadium of Light's principal large-scale conference and event space. Refurbished in 2023, it has high ceilings, a stage and dance-floor capability, River Wear views and integrated AV. It is designed for exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, dinners, award ceremonies and major celebrations.
The Stadium's Private Boxes provide smaller, premium spaces for meetings, private dining, client entertainment and intimate gatherings. Each has pitch views and a private balcony. The current venue listing describes 55 boxes, including larger double boxes, making them useful as discreet meeting spaces or as breakout areas alongside larger events.
The Business Lounge is a modern corporate meeting and event space with panoramic River Wear views. 76 Yards is a recently refurbished contemporary event space inspired by Wearside's industrial shipbuilding heritage. It has panoramic pitch views, long bars, IPTV screens, natural daylight and a private entrance. The space is promoted for product launches, creative workshops, networking, private dining and social events.
The Founders is an intimate premium space celebrating the origins of Sunderland AFC. It has a private terrace with pitch views, an exclusive bar and direct access towards the pitch via the concourse. It is particularly suitable for VIP events, private dining, senior leadership meetings, team meetings and workshops.
