At The George Country Inn, we bring together traditional Yorkshire character, warm hospitality and a flexible setting for memorable events. Our historic country inn sits in the heart of Wath, close to Ripon and conveniently positioned near the A1(M), making us an accessible choice for guests travelling from across North Yorkshire and beyond. We offer a welcoming combination of dining, private function space, a fully stocked bar, outdoor areas and comfortable en-suite accommodation. Whether you are planning an intimate family celebration, a wedding breakfast, private party, business gathering or evening reception, we work with our guests to create an experience that feels personal and relaxed. Our kitchen showcases locally sourced ingredients, while our cosy interiors provide an atmosphere suited to both formal occasions and informal celebrations. With on-site parking, Wi-Fi, accommodation and event facilities, we give organisers the convenience of bringing different parts of their occasion together in one characterful Yorkshire venue.
Our Function/Dining Room gives us the flexibility to host larger celebrations, formal dinners and wedding breakfasts. We can arrange the room for seated dining, evening receptions, dancing and private functions, making it our principal larger-event space.
Our Gluepot Bar provides a compact private setting for smaller gatherings. We use this space when guests want a more informal occasion centred around drinks, conversation and the relaxed atmosphere of our traditional Yorkshire inn.
