We are a Grade II listed event venue in the City of London, occupying the historic buildings of Whitbread’s former 18th-century brewery. Since 1750, our site has played an important part in London’s hospitality and entertainment history, and today we welcome events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions. Our seven principal event spaces give us the flexibility to accommodate conferences, exhibitions, awards dinners, weddings, parties, product launches and receptions. We provide in-house catering, event design, audio-visual support, high-speed Wi-Fi, integrated LED lighting, PA systems, electronic signage and dedicated event management. Our interconnected rooms also allow us to combine spaces or create separate areas for registration, dining, breakouts and receptions. We offer a complimentary cloakroom and 24-hour security, while our City location provides convenient access from Barbican, Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Farringdon stations. We work closely with each client to tailor our spaces, services and production around their event requirements.
The Porter Tun is our largest principal event space, giving us the scale and flexibility to host major conferences, exhibitions, awards, dinners, receptions and large celebrations. We can accommodate up to 900 guests in selected formats.
King George III gives a historic yet adaptable setting for conferences, exhibitions, awards, dinners and receptions. We can configure the room for different layouts and connect it with other spaces when additional event capacity is required.
Our Sugar Rooms provide flexible smaller-scale event space for meetings, conferences, receptions, exhibitions and celebrations. We can also combine or use these rooms alongside our larger spaces to create additional breakout or hospitality areas.
Smeaton Vaults is an intimate and distinctive setting for smaller conferences, receptions, dinners and supporting event activities. We can also use the space alongside our other rooms when an event requires additional catering or breakout facilities.
Queen Charlotte provides a versatile mid-sized event room suitable for dinners, receptions, conferences, product launches and celebrations. We can also use the room alongside our other spaces to create a larger event experience.
James Watt provides a more intimate event environment for meetings, conferences, dinners and smaller gatherings. We can use the room independently or alongside our larger spaces when additional breakout or catering areas are needed.
The Grubstreet Cellars is a three distinctive rooms combining original features with contemporary styling. We use the space for VIP areas, drinks receptions, small conferences, screenings, product launches, networking and smaller weddings.
