Tankersley Manor Hotel & Spa is a distinctive Yorkshire events venue combining the character of a 17th-century manor house with a modern conference and events centre. We are located on Church Lane in Tankersley, Barnsley, conveniently close to the M1 and within easy reach of Barnsley, Sheffield and Rotherham. We provide an unusual combination of historic architecture, contemporary meeting facilities, accommodation, leisure amenities and landscaped grounds. We currently offer 11 flexible meeting and event rooms, with our largest space, the Tankersley Suite, capable of accommodating up to 400 delegates. Our wider venue can accommodate up to 250 guests for banquets. Our facilities are designed for conferences, meetings, training days, team-building activities, networking, private celebrations and weddings. Our event proposition combines modern conference technology with period rooms, allowing organisers to choose between contemporary conference surroundings and more characterful spaces. We provide Wi-Fi, natural daylight in many rooms, AV facilities, dedicated conference support, catering and on-site parking. Outside the meeting environment, we offer accommodation, the Woodman Restaurant, spa facilities, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fitness centre. This makes us particularly suitable for residential conferences, corporate away days, weddings, training programmes, private functions and larger business events.
The Tankersley Suite is the venue's principal large-scale event space and is located within the modern events centre. It offers substantial flexibility, supporting conferences, exhibitions, large meetings, dinners and celebrations. Its room-control technology, natural daylight, Wi-Fi, PA system and flexible layouts make it particularly suitable for major corporate programmes.
Tankersley Garden is a flexible event room with natural daylight, air conditioning, built-in PA and Wi-Fi. It provides a mid-sized alternative to the main Tankersley Suite and is appropriate for conferences, seminars, corporate dinners, training sessions and private events. Its flexible configuration allows organisers to select layouts according to delegate numbers and programme requirements.
Tankersley Park is one of the larger flexible conference rooms within the modern events centre. It has air conditioning, blackout capability, natural daylight, room controls, built-in PA and Wi-Fi. Its 120-person theatre configuration makes it suitable for medium-sized corporate events and training programmes.
Tankersley Wood offers essentially the same configuration as Tankersley Park and is another highly flexible modern conference room. It provides natural daylight, air conditioning, blackout facilities, built-in PA, room controls and Wi-Fi. The space works well as a standalone conference room or as part of a multi-room event programme.
Tankersley Wood & Garden is a combined configuration of the corresponding event areas and provides a substantially larger conference environment than either individual room. It includes an LCD projector, screen, built-in PA, natural daylight and Wi-Fi. The combined layout is particularly useful when an organiser needs a larger audience area without moving into the full 400-person Tankersley Suite.
The Manor Suite is located within the original manor-house environment and offers a more traditional setting than the modern conference centre. Its period character makes it attractive for meetings, private dining, smaller conferences and functions where organisers want a historic Yorkshire atmosphere alongside professional event facilities.
Crook Barn is an original 17th-century barn that has been converted into an event space, combining exposed historic features with modern event technology. It is one of Tankersley Manor's most characterful spaces and is particularly popular for weddings and intimate celebrations, while also supporting conferences, training and private dining.
The Fitzwilliam Suite is a medium-sized meeting and event room located within the manor environment. It benefits from natural daylight, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity and built-in PA. Its 60-person theatre capacity makes it suitable for presentations, workshops, training sessions and smaller corporate gatherings.
Pennine Conservatory provides a lighter, more informal event environment with abundant natural daylight. It is suited to presentations, meetings and smaller group activities where a conventional boardroom environment is not required. Its three-phase power supply also gives organisers additional flexibility for selected event and production requirements.
Cawthorne is one of the venue's smallest meeting rooms and is designed primarily for intimate meetings and small working groups. It includes natural daylight, Wi-Fi and built-in PA. Its six-person boardroom configuration makes it appropriate for executive meetings, interviews, one-to-one business sessions and small team discussions.
Wentworth is another intimate meeting room within the venue. It provides natural daylight, Wi-Fi, screen facilities and internet connectivity. Its compact size makes it particularly useful for executive meetings, interviews, small workshops, private discussions and breakout activities during larger conferences.
