Chillingham Castle

Chillingham Castle gives a remarkable historic setting in the Northumberland countryside, where centuries of history, distinctive architecture and extensive grounds create an unusual environment for events and experiences. Our 13th-century, Grade I Star-listed stronghold has been connected with the same family lineage since the 1200s and offers visitors an extraordinary combination of historic rooms, gardens, lakes, parkland and atmospheric spaces. We welcome groups for private guided tours and provide year-round ghost tours and ghost hunts for those seeking a different experience. Our castle and grounds have also hosted concerts, operas, garden parties, festive events, watercolour challenges, Morris dancing and film and television activities. We provide group dining in our candle-lit Minstrels' Hall, while our self-catering apartments allow visitors to stay within the historic castle and its former Coaching Rooms. Although we no longer host weddings, we continue to offer our distinctive historic setting for selected events, experiences, filming and private group activities.
