Barts North Wing provides a historic setting for events in the heart of the City of London, centred around our spectacular Great Hall and Hogarth Stair. Our Grade I-listed building combines Georgian architecture, historic artwork and modern event facilities, creating a distinctive setting for conferences, meetings, talks, concerts, weddings, dinners and receptions. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 280 guests for seated theatre-style events, while our smaller meeting and dining rooms provide more intimate settings. We offer flexible room configurations, high-speed Wi-Fi, professional event support, optional security and cloakroom services, and technical packages for sound and lighting. Our exclusive catering partner, Lettice Events, creates bespoke menus for events, while approved suppliers can support production, entertainment and floristry requirements. We also offer exclusive or part-hire options, with access to our atmospheric courtyard and historic private rooms. Located at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in West Smithfield, we are within easy reach of Farringdon, City Thameslink and central London transport connections.
We provide the Great Hall as our principal event space, featuring an ornate plaster ceiling, historic benefactor boards and the restored Hogarth Stair arrival. It suits conferences, weddings, dinners, concerts and receptions.
We provide the Henry VIII Room as an intimate ground-floor setting beside the Hogarth Stair, suitable for smaller ceremonies, dinners, receptions and meetings.
We provide the Treasurer’s Room as a bright, elegant room with natural light, high ceilings and authentic Georgian decoration, suitable for smaller meetings, receptions and bar areas.
We provide the James Gibbs Dining Room as part of the smaller private-room facilities within the North Wing, suitable for dining, meetings and event support.
We provide the James Gibbs Sitting Room as a supporting private room alongside the James Gibbs Dining Room, suitable for green-room, breakout or smaller event requirements.
We provide the courtyard and Princess Anne Gardens as an atmospheric outdoor setting for welcome drinks, summer celebrations and quieter moments during events.
