At Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, we offer a distinctive cultural venue within the beautifully restored New River Head waterworks in Clerkenwell, London. Our historic setting brings together illustration galleries, a welcoming café, creative studios and outdoor spaces, giving organisers a choice of environments for different occasions. We host corporate receptions, conferences, private dinners, product launches, book launches, panel discussions, screenings and creative workshops. Our Boiler House Café features an original Quentin Blake mural and built-in audiovisual facilities, making it suitable for presentations, talks and receptions. We also offer opportunities to explore our galleries outside public opening hours, subject to availability and collection-protection requirements. Our creative studios provide flexible spaces for meetings and workshops, while our team can arrange additional experiences such as illustration demonstrations, curator-led tours and talks by creative practitioners. Whether you are planning a business gathering or a cultural event, we offer a characterful setting that connects creativity, illustration and London's heritage.
We offer our Boiler House Café as a flexible, open-plan event space with an original Quentin Blake mural and a south-facing terrace. Our built-in audiovisual facilities support receptions, dinners, talks and screenings.
We open our Engine House Galleries for private views, welcome drinks and receptions, giving guests the opportunity to explore our exhibitions outside public opening hours. We can arrange gallery hire independently or alongside the café.
Our Creative Studios provide flexible spaces for meetings, workshops and away days. We can also offer them as breakout rooms alongside our larger event spaces, creating a practical environment for collaborative activities.
We offer Windmill Base as a compact, dedicated space for small meetings and away days. Our room can also support illustration-related activities and provide a breakout area for events using our other spaces.
