Holdsworth House is a historic Jacobean manor dating from 1633, located on the outskirts of Halifax in West Yorkshire. We operate as a four-star hotel, restaurant, wedding venue, private-event venue and meeting/conference destination. Our historic architecture, landscaped gardens, private dining rooms and larger function spaces allow us to accommodate events ranging from intimate gatherings and private dinners to large weddings and corporate meetings. Our principal function space is the Stuart Room, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated wedding or dinner and up to 150 for a buffet or evening celebration. Smaller spaces include the Abraham Brigg, De Aldworth and Ayrton rooms, while the Stone Gazebo provides an especially intimate setting. Outdoor options include the Colonnade Courtyard, Garden Gazebo and Barn Courtyard. The Garden Gazebo can accommodate ceremonies for up to 120 guests, while the Barn Courtyard can seat up to 120 outdoors or 100 beneath its covered barn area. Facilities include Wi-Fi, event coordination, AV equipment, catering, private bars, dance-floor facilities, accessible parking and an accessible cloakroom. We also provide 33 en-suite bedrooms, making us suitable for residential weddings, corporate events and private functions.
The manor's premier, split-level banqueting hall is ideal for large conferences and vibrant evening wedding receptions. It features exposed wooden beams, a spacious built-in dance floor, a private bar, and direct walk-out access to the adjoining courtyard.
The Abraham Brigg Room is a ground-floor function room suited to weddings, ceremonies, private dining, afternoon tea, meetings and smaller events. It provides a more contained alternative to the Stuart Room and is particularly useful for medium-sized gatherings. The venue states that it can accommodate up to 80 for ceremonies.

The Colonnade Courtyard is a secluded outdoor ceremony and event space situated within the historic house. Yorkshire stone paving, an outdoor fireplace, lanterns, floral borders and a covered pillared area create an intimate setting. It accommodates up to 60 seated guests, with additional standing capacity taking the total to approximately 80
The Barn Courtyard is Holdsworth House's newer outdoor ceremony space, introduced for 2026. Located across the paddock beside the original barn and former stable area, it provides a rustic alternative to the traditional manor setting. It can accommodate larger outdoor ceremonies while retaining a covered barn-style option.
