Southwood, also known historically as Southwood Club and Southwood House, is an exclusive-use country-house events venue on Birdcage Lane in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The property was originally built as a private residence in 1941 for Halifax industrialist Albert Kitchen and was subsequently used as a classical ballet school before becoming associated with the Freemasons from the late 1980s. Today, Southwood specialises in weddings, corporate events and private functions. The venue offers three flexible ground-floor function suites—The Albert Suite, St Johns and Connaught—and can accommodate up to 150 people theatre-style in the Albert Suite.
