Boiler Shop

The Boiler Shop provides a distinctive industrial event setting in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our Grade II* listed building dates from the 1820s and was originally part of the world’s first locomotive works before being restored as a modern events and live entertainment venue. We offer a flexible environment for live performances, private celebrations, corporate events, conferences, product launches, dinners and award ceremonies. Our main Shop Floor can accommodate up to 1,000 people standing, while the venue can also operate at reduced capacities or in seated configurations. The Mezzanine provides a separate area suitable for ceremonies and smaller events, including weddings for up to 150 guests. We combine the character of our historic industrial setting with professional sound and lighting, backstage facilities, dressing rooms, a green room, kitchen facilities and accessible ground-floor event areas.
