Great North Museum: Hancock

@4e3h17

Great North Museum: Hancock is one of Newcastle upon Tyne's most distinctive cultural venues, combining a natural-history and archaeology museum with flexible spaces for conferences, weddings, corporate functions, dinners and private celebrations. Located on Barras Bridge beside Newcastle University and around five minutes from Haymarket Metro and bus station, the museum provides a central and easily accessible location for events. The venue's largest event area is the Exhibition Space, which can accommodate up to 450 guests in its full three-hall configuration. The space can also be divided into smaller sections, allowing organisers to hire the whole hall, two halls or a single hall. It includes projection and audio equipment suitable for presentations and conferences. The Clore Suite provides a more intimate private-event environment and can accommodate up to 120 guests for receptions or theatre-style events. It also has access to a private garden. The Living Planet Gallery, surrounded by natural-history displays, can accommodate up to 160 reception guests or 100 seated guests. A particularly unusual option is the Planetarium, which accommodates up to 27 people theatre-style and must be hired during the first two hours of an event. The entire museum can also be hired for large receptions, with a stated capacity of 1,280 people.
