Rotherham Leisure Complex is a large multi-purpose leisure and sports facility located on Effingham Street in central Rotherham. We are managed by Places Leisure in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and provide a broad range of indoor sporting, fitness, swimming and recreational facilities. While we are primarily a community leisure facility, our facilities are also available for hire for special events, sporting activities and meetings. Our complex includes a sports hall, swimming pools, a leisure pool, flume, fitness suite, exercise studios, indoor cycling studio and squash courts. We also have a café, changing facilities, sauna and steam room. Accessibility is a significant feature of our facilities, with changing-place facilities, wheelchair-accessible equipment, pool hoists, an accessible pool chair and an accessible pool platform. For event and celebration use, we specifically offer facility hire and swimming-pool party packages. Our published pool-party formats allow exclusive use of the pool for one hour and accommodate up to 40 children.
The sports hall is a large multi-purpose indoor activity space within Rotherham Leisure Complex. It is primarily designed for sporting activities but is also part of the centre's wider facility-hire offering. It can therefore support organised sporting events, competitions, community activities and other activity-based private bookings.
The main pool is a 25-metre swimming facility used for public swimming, lessons, aquatic activities and swimming clubs. It can also be hired in specific party/event formats. The current published large pool-party package provides exclusive pool use for one hour and permits a maximum of 40 children.
The leisure pool forms part of Rotherham Leisure Complex's aquatic facilities and is designed for recreational swimming and family activities. It operates alongside the main 25-metre pool and smaller pool facilities. Its primary function is leisure rather than conventional event hosting, although aquatic activities and selected private-use packages are available.
The squash courts provide dedicated indoor racket-sport facilities within the complex. They are designed for individual and club sporting use and are available alongside the centre's broader sports facilities. They should be recorded as sports facilities rather than conventional event spaces, with capacity determined by the particular sporting activity.
