Perched above Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, Merewood Country House Hotel is an elegant country house dating back to 1812. Our historic property combines original character with comfortable modern facilities and offers beautiful views across the lake and surrounding fells. We provide a range of indoor ceremony and reception spaces, as well as landscaped gardens and an outdoor terrace for celebrations with a scenic backdrop. Our wedding offering ranges from intimate “Just Us” ceremonies for two to larger celebrations, with exclusive-use options available. We can accommodate up to 120 day guests and up to 200 evening guests for weddings. Our 20 bedrooms provide on-site accommodation, while our restaurant, lounges and bar provide spaces for dining and relaxing. We also cater for business meetings and conferences, with dedicated function facilities for smaller corporate gatherings. Our location, overlooking Windermere and close to Windermere and Ambleside, provides a distinctive setting for weddings, private celebrations and residential events.
