Hatton Gallery — Newcastle University

Hatton Gallery is a prominent cultural venue within Newcastle University, located on King’s Road in the heart of the university’s city-centre campus. Our gallery has played an important role in the North East’s artistic and cultural life for almost a century and houses a collection of more than 3,000 works spanning several centuries. We present modern and contemporary exhibitions alongside student degree shows, touring exhibitions, talks and other cultural programmes. Our distinctive gallery environment also provides an alternative setting for private and university events, with evening events able to accommodate up to 300 guests. We offer accessible facilities, Wi-Fi, toilets and visitor amenities, while our central campus location provides convenient access from Newcastle city centre and public transport. We are particularly suited to exhibitions, cultural receptions, talks, launches, private functions and academic events requiring an artistic and distinctive setting. Our gallery also supports Newcastle University’s Fine Art programmes by providing professional exhibition opportunities for students.
