The Biscuit Factory

The Biscuit Factory is an independent contemporary art, craft and design gallery located in Newcastle upon Tyne's Ouseburn cultural quarter. Housed within a sympathetically refurbished former Victorian biscuit-manufacturing warehouse, the venue retains exposed brickwork, timber features and industrial character while incorporating contemporary exhibition and event facilities. The building houses artwork from hundreds of artists and makers, artist studios, a café and several spaces available for private and corporate hire. For events, the venue's principal spaces are The Biscuit Room, The Garden Room and Artisan. The Biscuit Room is the largest, accommodating up to 300 guests for seated dining and up to 400 for a reception according to the venue's current celebration information. It has its own bar, lounge and dressing-room facilities and is designed for conferences, presentations, award ceremonies, corporate dinners and large celebrations. The Garden Room, opened in 2024, is an indoor garden-style event space featuring plants, a water feature and chandeliers. The venue states that it can accommodate up to 120 for dining and 250 for receptions on its current celebrations page, although a newer corporate brochure gives a 200-person reception figure. Artisan is the smaller, more intimate space, accommodating up to 70 dining or 100 reception guests.
