Streetlife Museum of Transport

@adyga1

Streetlife Museum of Transport is a distinctive heritage venue in Hull's Old Town, forming part of the city's Museums Quarter alongside Wilberforce House and Hull and East Riding Museum. The museum takes visitors through more than 200 years of transport history, with collections covering bicycles, carriages, motorcars, railways, trams and historic street life. One of its most recognisable features is a recreated 1940s high street, which provides an unusually immersive backdrop for events and photography. The museum currently offers venue hire and states that it has several spaces suitable for meetings, conferences and special events. For larger events and conferences, Hull Museums specifically suggests combining the museum's venue spaces with the Museums Quarter Gardens. The most clearly documented dedicated flexible space is the Streetlife Open Space. This multifunctional room was designed for exhibitions, activities, workshops and community events. It has a projection and sound system, museum-standard display equipment, flexible seating for up to 35 people, with additional seating capable of increasing capacity to 50. The museum does not have its own café, but it provides an outdoor picnic area and benefits from numerous cafés and restaurants nearby. The venue is accessible by lift and provides accessible toilets and wheelchair facilities.
