Hull Maritime Museum

@pnlhar

Hull Maritime Museum is one of Hull's most distinctive heritage venues, occupying the former Dock Offices in Queen Victoria Square. The Grade II* listed building originally opened in 1871 and became Hull Maritime Museum in 1975. After an extensive £20.4 million transformation, the museum reopened to the public on 8 August 2026, with restored historic interiors, expanded exhibition space, improved accessibility, a café and new visitor facilities. For events, the museum offers an unusually atmospheric alternative to conventional conference and function venues. Its principal dedicated event space is The Courtroom, a magnificent historic room restored as part of the redevelopment. The current venue-hire specification allows up to 100 people for standing canapé celebrations, drinks receptions and seated ceremonies or presentations, while round-table dining can accommodate up to 60 guests. A smaller Keyhole Room, accommodating up to 20 people, is available for meetings and workshops and can also be hired as a breakout space alongside the Courtroom. Event packages can include professional AV, sound and lighting, bar services, drinks packages, canapés and buffet catering. The museum's central Hull location, distinctive Victorian architecture and maritime collections make it particularly suitable for corporate receptions, conferences, awards, networking events, presentations, ceremonies, private celebrations and cultural events.
