The Catalyst is a contemporary innovation and events building situated at Newcastle Helix, a major regeneration and innovation district in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is approximately nine minutes' walk from Newcastle Central Station and seven minutes from St James Metro, with paid parking available nearby.
Blanche is one of The Catalyst's compact huddle rooms, designed for very small meetings and collaborative discussions. It accommodates between two and six people and provides a UHD screen, webcam and auxiliary HDMI/USB inputs. Its small footprint makes it particularly suitable for one-to-one meetings, interviews and small project discussions.
Cobra is another dedicated huddle room at The Catalyst. It is designed for groups of two to six people and includes a UHD screen, webcam and auxiliary HDMI/USB connections. The room is best suited to compact meetings, interviews, collaborative work and small business discussions requiring straightforward digital presentation facilities.
Argo is a small boardroom-style meeting space accommodating up to 12 people. It includes a UHD screen, induction loop and auxiliary HDMI/USB inputs. The room is appropriate for board meetings, interviews, strategy sessions and small workshops where participants need a more formal meeting environment and reliable presentation technology.
Derwent is a compact huddle room for groups of two to six delegates. It provides a UHD screen, webcam and auxiliary HDMI/USB inputs. Its small collaborative layout makes it suitable for interviews, one-to-one meetings, small team discussions, project work and informal business meetings requiring modern digital presentation facilities.
Electra is a dedicated event and conference room with cabaret-style seating for up to 24 delegates. It includes a UHD screen, webcam and auxiliary HDMI/USB inputs. The space is suitable for small workshops, training sessions, presentations and collaborative corporate events where participants need a dedicated room with integrated audiovisual facilities.
Gorgon is one half of The Catalyst's flexible Gorgon/Faraday event space. In its individual configuration it accommodates up to 32 delegates in cabaret style and includes a UHD screen, webcam and HDMI/USB inputs. It is suitable for seminars, meetings, workshops and medium-sized corporate activities requiring integrated AV technology.
Faraday is the second half of the flexible Gorgon/Faraday configuration. It accommodates up to 32 delegates independently in cabaret style and is equipped with a UHD display, webcam and auxiliary HDMI/USB connections. It works well for meetings, seminars, workshops and smaller conferences, either independently or combined with Gorgon.
The Exhibition/Networking Space is an open, light-filled area near the entrance to The Catalyst. It provides a flexible blank canvas for exhibitions, networking, demonstrations and showcases and benefits from footfall to the on-site café. A UHD screen, webcam, HDMI/USB inputs and optional 3×3 video wall are available.
The Boardroom is a premium corporate meeting room with panoramic Newcastle views and dedicated breakout facilities. It has an 84-inch CleverTouch screen, induction loop, private breakout room and private restroom. Its separate access route through the back staircase and lift is particularly useful for VIP meetings and executive events.
The Team Decision Theatre is a specialist collaborative technology room designed for interactive group decision-making and presentations. It includes a large 3×3 video wall, three UHD touch displays, HDMI and DisplayPort wall panels and a Kramer touchscreen AV controller. It is particularly suited to innovation, strategy and collaborative workshops.
The TED Style Theatre is The Catalyst's largest dedicated event space, providing 173 fixed theatre-style seats. Each seat has USB/USB-C charging and the theatre has an induction loop. Three 4K UHD projectors, ceiling speakers, wireless presentation technology and streaming equipment make it suitable for conferences, screenings and presentations.
The Workshop is a versatile larger event room designed for conferences, meetings and collaborative activities. Its preferred cabaret configuration seats 72 delegates, while the current event information also gives a theatre-style capacity of up to 130. Integrated charging, UHD projection, ceiling speakers, wireless presentation and streaming facilities support hybrid events.
