The Manorial Barn

The Manorial Barn is a historic wedding and events venue located on Chaff Lane in the village of Whiston, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We are housed in a Grade II-listed historic barn with origins dating to the early thirteenth century, recognised for its distinctive cruck-framed timber construction, traditional agricultural character and thatched roof. Originally part of a working farm, our building has been carefully restored and repurposed as a specialist venue for weddings, celebrations and other private functions. We are licensed for civil marriage ceremonies, allowing couples to hold both their ceremony and reception within the same historic setting. Our event facilities include a dedicated ceremony room, main reception hall, private bar, catering facilities and outdoor garden space. We provide in-house catering, with our chefs preparing menus for events, while our event team assists clients with planning and arrangements. Our capacity varies according to the event configuration. We accommodate between 40 and 90 guests for a wedding breakfast, while our overall capacity can reach 150 for an informal evening event. We therefore work particularly well for small-to-medium weddings, receptions and private celebrations rather than very large conferences or exhibitions. Our historic architecture, rustic atmosphere, private bar, in-house catering and intimate scale distinguish us from conventional hotel conference venues.
