The Tyneside Cinema provides a distinctive city-centre setting in Newcastle upon Tyne for corporate events, private screenings, meetings, celebrations and film-related occasions. Our Grade II-listed Art Deco building combines four cinema auditoriums with dedicated meeting rooms and hospitality spaces, allowing us to accommodate both professional and private events. We offer professional projection, cinema sound, laptop presentation facilities, PA setup and dedicated event Wi-Fi, supported by our experienced Events Team. Our spaces can accommodate smaller meetings of 10 people through to larger presentations and screenings for up to 263 guests in our Classic auditorium. We can also provide private parties, film screenings, premieres, Q&As, conferences, training days, product launches and team events. Our meeting and hospitality spaces include The Figgis Suite, Headspace, The Digital Lounge and The Coffee Rooms, giving organisers options beyond the cinema screens themselves. Located in the heart of Newcastle, we are only a short walk from the Metro and major bus links, making us convenient for local and visiting guests.
Our Classic auditorium is our largest cinema space, with capacity for up to 200 guests in the Stalls and 63 in the Circle. We provide a 6m x 2.7m screen, 2K DLP projection, 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, presentation support, PA setup and dedicated event Wi-Fi.
Our Roxy auditorium accommodates up to 89 guests and provides a 6.3m x 2.6m screen. With professional projection, 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, laptop presentation support, PA setup and dedicated event Wi-Fi, we can host screenings, Q&As, presentations and mid-sized events.
Our Electra auditorium seats up to 134 guests and features our largest screen at 8m x 5.2m. We provide professional projection, 5.1 digital sound, presentation support, PA setup and dedicated event Wi-Fi for screenings, presentations and corporate events.
Our Gallery is our most intimate cinema auditorium, accommodating up to 33 guests. We provide a 5m x 2.8m screen, 4K DLP projection, 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, laptop presentation support and dedicated event Wi-Fi for smaller screenings and focused presentations.
Our Figgis Suite is a dedicated meeting space for up to 30 people. We offer it for meetings, training sessions and smaller corporate events, with half-day and full-day hire options available through our Events Team.
Our Digital Lounge accommodates up to 30 people and provides a flexible setting for meetings and smaller events. It is also used for private party experiences, giving us a more informal alternative to our cinema auditoriums.
Our Headspace meeting room accommodates up to 10 people and provides a smaller setting for focused meetings and team sessions. It forms part of our dedicated meeting-room hire offering within the cinema.
Our Coffee Rooms provide a larger hospitality and meeting space for up to 100 people. We can use the space for meetings, gatherings and event hospitality, providing an alternative to our dedicated cinema auditoriums.
