Tyne Theatre & Opera House

Tyne Theatre & Opera House is a historic Grade I listed venue in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, combining Victorian architectural character with flexible spaces for meetings, events, performances and celebrations. Our venue dates back to 1867 and provides a distinctive setting within easy walking distance of Newcastle Central Station. We offer private hire of our new 1867 Café Bar and 1867 Hall, while our historic theatre stage and auditorium are also available for conferences, community events and shows. Our 1867 Café Bar provides an intimate setting for private events, while the adjoining Hall offers considerably more space for corporate, cultural and personal occasions. We also provide additional hospitality areas including the Stalls Bar and Bistro Bar, with catering and drinks packages available on request. With accessible facilities, central transport connections and a unique historic atmosphere, we provide a versatile setting for business gatherings, cultural events, celebrations and large-scale theatre-based occasions.
