Laing Art Gallery is our Grade II listed Edwardian venue in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, providing a distinctive setting surrounded by historic and contemporary art. Our gallery offers a selection of elegant spaces for corporate events, private celebrations, dinners, receptions, weddings, meetings and cultural occasions. We provide the grand Marble Hall, Collection Display Gallery, Northern Spirit Gallery, Café Laing and a fully equipped Function Room, allowing us to accommodate everything from intimate meetings to large receptions. The whole gallery can host up to 550 guests standing, while individual spaces provide more focused settings for smaller events. Our facilities include free public Wi-Fi, audiovisual equipment, catering, tables, chairs, crockery, glassware and dedicated event support. We work with a range of catering suppliers to provide canapés, buffets, drinks and three-course dining. Our central location is less than five minutes from Monument Metro Station, making us convenient for guests travelling by public transport. We also offer accessible facilities and dedicated support throughout the event-planning process.
Our Marble Hall and Café Laing provide an impressive ground-floor setting for receptions, networking and celebrations. Together, we accommodate up to 200 guests standing, with Café Laing providing additional space for refreshments and hospitality.
Our Function Room provides a fully equipped setting for meetings, training, seminars and smaller events. We accommodate up to 60 guests, with a screen, soundbar, microphone and Teams-enabled hybrid meeting facilities.
Our Northern Spirit Gallery provides a distinctive ground-floor environment for drinks receptions, networking and private occasions. We accommodate up to 100 guests standing while providing an atmospheric setting surrounded by art.
Our Collection Display Gallery provides an elegant first-floor setting surrounded by artworks from our permanent collection. We accommodate up to 110 guests for receptions and provide seating for up to 40 in a boardroom arrangement.
