The Springfield Hotel is a community-focused pub and restaurant on Salters Lane South in Darlington. Despite its name, the current venue operates primarily as a pub, dining and social-events destination, rather than as a conventional hotel or dedicated conference centre. It provides food and drinks throughout the week and promotes its facilities for informal gatherings, celebrations and group occasions. The venue has a beer garden, car park, accessible entrance and parking, children's play area, pool table and a dog-friendly bar area. Its food offering includes pub classics and chef specialities, while its drinks range includes cask ales and other beverages. Events form an important part of its current offering. The Springfield Hotel runs themed party nights, live entertainment, pub quizzes, seasonal celebrations and other programmed events. Its 2026 PubLife programme includes themed nights, live entertainment and larger weekend celebrations. The venue also promotes the hotel for group bookings and celebrations, including Christmas parties, family gatherings and work-related social events.
The spacious, spotless indoor function area features a modern bar, multi-screen sports TVs, arcade games, and flexible seating layouts. It is the primary spot for weekly bingo, high-energy trivia quiz nights, and karaoke. For private functions, it can accommodate medium-to-large crowds for milestone birthdays, christenings, and wedding receptions.
This large, fully enclosed, dog-friendly outdoor space is filled with open-air tables and greenery. It serves as a beautiful backdrop for summer family gatherings and drinks. The area also transforms into a vibrant concert zone for major community milestones, hosting massive outdoor live music festivals, food stalls, and seasonal events.
