Hedworth Hall is an elegant, family-run events and hospitality venue in the historic Westoe area of South Shields. The building dates from 1919 and retains many of its original architectural features while providing modern facilities for weddings, parties, dining and other celebrations. The venue describes itself as having two large function rooms, The Ballroom and The Temple Room, which can be configured for different types of events. The venue is particularly well established as a wedding and celebration venue. It is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in both the Ballroom and Temple Room, allowing ceremonies and receptions to take place at the same location. It also provides in-house catering, event coordination and entertainment options. The Ballroom is the larger of the two principal function spaces, with current venue information giving a capacity of approximately 200 guests. It can be configured for ceremonies, wedding receptions, parties and presentation events. The current official celebration page gives 120, while wedding information gives up to 150.
The Restaurant is a smaller dining/private-event space within Hedworth Hall. The official celebration page lists a capacity of 50. The premises currently operates with an Italian/European restaurant offering, making this space particularly suitable for smaller dining occasions, private meals and intimate celebrations.
