Newcastle Civic Centre is a major civic and events venue in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, located at Barras Bridge in the Haymarket area. The building combines its distinctive modernist architecture with flexible event and conference facilities, making it suitable for both formal corporate functions and large social occasions. The Civic Centre was opened in 1968 and is a Grade II* listed building, giving events a particularly distinctive architectural setting.
The venue provides a wide range of spaces, from small boardroom-style rooms for intimate meetings to the Banqueting Hall, which can accommodate up to 600 people. Its facilities include HDMI and USB connectivity, screens, flexible room layouts, professional event support, Wi-Fi, staging and microphones, while catering is provided in-house.
Newcastle Civic Centre caters for conferences, meetings, weddings, receptions, award ceremonies, graduation events, dinners, exhibitions, fashion shows, press launches, community events and other private functions. The Banqueting Hall is particularly suited to large-scale celebrations, while the Council Chamber and smaller meeting rooms provide more formal settings for conferences and business events.
