Cresswell Pele Tower and Walled Garden

Cresswell Pele Tower and Walled Garden gives is a unique heritage setting in the coastal village of Cresswell, Northumberland. Our restored 14th-century Pele Tower stands alongside the beautifully renewed Walled Garden, creating a distinctive environment where history, nature and community come together. We preserve this important Grade II* listed building and Scheduled Monument while keeping the surrounding garden open for residents, visitors and community activities. Our Walled Garden has been transformed from a neglected historic kitchen garden into a welcoming community space, with accessible paths, planting areas, a greenhouse, wildlife-friendly pond, orchard and dedicated events pavilion. We offer a setting that works particularly well for heritage activities, educational programmes, community gatherings, garden events and cultural occasions. Our free parking nearby and accessible drop-off arrangement also help visitors reach the site conveniently. Run by volunteers through Cresswell Pele Tower CIO, we continue to care for this historic place while creating opportunities for people to enjoy, learn about and participate in our local heritage.
