Ferens Art Gallery

Art, architecture and heritage create the backdrop at Ferens Art Gallery, one of Hull’s most recognisable cultural landmarks. Opened in 1927 following a gift from local industrialist and MP Thomas Robinson Ferens, the gallery was established to bring art and culture to the people of Hull. Today, its collection spans almost 700 years, from late-medieval European works and Old Masters to modern and contemporary British art. This remarkable setting is also available for corporate and private events, offering an alternative to conventional conference rooms and hotels. Gallery 2, additional gallery spaces, the Studio, gallery café and, subject to requirements, the whole building can be hired for conferences, cocktail parties, exhibitions, networking and special occasions. Gallery 2 provides an atmospheric setting surrounded by works of art and architectural detail, with a grand piano available to enhance receptions and special events. For smaller gatherings, lectures and intimate performances, the Studio provides a flexible environment equipped with projection, audio and digital conference facilities. The gallery café offers another option for corporate functions and networking, while catering can be arranged through Hull Culture & Leisure.
