The White Hart

The White Hart, 109 Alfred Gelder Street, Hull, is a distinctive Grade II-listed historic venue in Hull's Old Town. The present building was constructed in 1904 for the Hull Brewery Company and was designed by Freeman, Son & Gaskell. Its Renaissance Revival exterior, sham timber framing, original interior fittings and exceptionally preserved curved ceramic bar give it a character that differs substantially from conventional modern conference centres. Historic England recognises the building for both its architectural and interior significance. Today, the independently operated White Hart functions primarily as a historic pub and sports venue but also actively markets the premises for private hire, weddings, corporate events and parties. The venue's current private-hire service allows clients to hire the premises for events, with event catering supplied through its neighbouring food operation. The venue also provides a PA system, XLR connections and space suitable for speeches, presentations, quizzes and live entertainment. The White Hart is particularly attractive for events where character, heritage and atmosphere are more important than conventional conference-centre infrastructure. It is approximately one minute's walk from Hull Guildhall and is centrally located in Hull's historic quarter. The venue also advertises accommodation above the premises, allowing event guests to stay onsite.
